E+ PROJECT APPROVED
CARE Project: Empowering Migrant Youth and Educators Through Language and Digital Skills
The CARE Project brings together key partners across Europe to address the integration of migrant children into society through innovative, language-focused education. In alignment with the European Commission’s Action Plan on the Integration of Third-Country Nationals, the project aims to strengthen inclusion, support cultural adaptation, and foster employment readiness among migrant youth.
Project Overview and Objectives
The CARE Project targets the educational and social challenges that migrants face, such as language barriers and limited access to digital resources. It offers a comprehensive approach to integration by focusing on two main areas:
- Language and Digital Skills: Utilizing a Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL) approach, CARE helps migrant children develop essential language skills in both everyday interactions (BICS) and academic settings (CALP). This dual focus not only aids in smoother social integration but also lays a foundation for long-term employability and success in the workforce.
- Digital Mentoring and AI: A digital mentoring program is at the heart of CARE’s efforts to improve digital literacy among migrant youth. By leveraging the potential of AI tools and online mentoring, the project helps children navigate both educational content and daily life, preparing them for the modern digital world.
Key Objectives of the CARE Project:
- Boost Language Skills: Improve language proficiency among migrant youth for both conversational and academic purposes.
- Enhance Self-Esteem and Confidence: Empower young migrants to feel more comfortable and self-assured in their new environment.
- Develop Digital Literacy: Enable participants to thrive in digital learning environments, promoting better engagement and skill acquisition.
- Strengthen 21st-Century Skills: Foster key competencies such as problem-solving, critical thinking, and time management.
- Support Educators: Equip teachers with innovative CLIL-based methods, digital mentoring skills, and intercultural communication tools to better support migrant students.
